2. What is DBAN and what is the difference to ''erase unused free space''?

Open up windows explorer, right click on the icon for your hard drive and select Erase Unused Space. This can also be done though the eraser control panel.

DBan wipes the entire contents of your hard drive leaving it completely empty. Eraser wipes the free space and does not destroy any files on your hard drive.
