I just did the same operation as you want to do, but I left the desktop.ini. You won't be able to erase the index.dat in Temporary internet files folder. I went through Program files/accseory/System Tools/Disk cleanup/Temporary Internet files. For the index.dat files I use "Index.Dat Suite"...

The 1st and last 2k was removed for v5.82 llRC.

Sorry to here that, you do have to be very carefull. I use Perfect Disk, never had a problem.

There are pay programs that more than make-up for it, there are some that should never see the light of day so to speak. Sorry, I don't know.

I had software that was in add/Remove..that didn't respond when I clicked "Remove", the uninstall was there..just didn't work. I would just delete the program. Don't forget to search the registry for the Heidi Folder :? Was Eraser v4.0 under the Heidi TM name?

I also kill all non-essential processes with Windows Task Manager, to get the Windows Task Manager press the keys Ctrl+Alt+Delete. It allows better cleaning of the cluster tips and helps with programs that are scheduled to write to the disk..therefore interfering with the unused disc space wipe.

The only guess I could make would be the Content of the folder, those 1000 files. Has the type of file changed, or the way you delete them. How about the version of Eraser you use to delete them with.

No you are not the only one, when I got the error of no posts I thought someboby just got this thread locked and deleted. Its not till I clicked on page one to see what got this thread locked that I found that there was some sort of post error. [edit]I got it again after posting too.
