Yeh Scott, I was aware that Shaun was involved or co-authord Drivecrypt. Maybe it has to progress more as a beta to work out the bugs? Interesting that you use Best Crypt. Never tried it. But it sure has been around. But good ol Scramdisk is still very much available! Wow that m,akes only TWO...

Thanks for the data Scott. Im curious why the basic Drive Crypt was problematic to you. And do you now use the Plus version? And had you ever used Scamdisk? What do you think of "on the fly" encryption? I didnt know about that swap file option on XP, thats cool.

Maybe "easier, more automated ways" of doing it? I find the best way when it come to security progs is not necessarily the EASIEST. One has to work...

    Error message

Eraser gives me the same error sometimes (not erasing file names despite several tries). Always did, no matter the version. Garrett was right that running scandisk could handle it. Actually, for awhile it was doing it TOO much, so I ran scandisk before even trying to use Eraser at all! I am...

    Re-writing Eraser?

Garrett, I have been an Eraser user now for several years. I have always trusted Eraser mainly because: 1)I know it works and is bug-free - thanks to SAMI, 2)because of my perception of who Sami is and what he came up with (I used to email him, but Im sure you know him well) When he dumped...
