Allow erasing with LOW priority in background. Immediate STO

Occasionally I want to erase some large directory trees with a total size of approx 3-5 GB.

When I start Eraser this operation took up to 1-2 hours to complete.
During this time the CPU load is close to 90% and the computer is almost blocked and unusable.

I would like to have an option to tell Eraser to do his job in background with a priority LOW.
Or - even better - monitor user activity and stop all erasing when CPU usage is above 5% during the last 5 minutes.

Furthermore I cannot stop erasing process. When I click the STOP button Eraser
wants to finish the erasing for the current file at first. When the current file has a size of lets say 2 GB
then the "stopping" lasts 30 minutes. This is unacceptable.

Could you include an really immediate stop in the next release?

Which version ofEraser are you using? Version 6 stops almost immediately. How will using a low background process priority help in your situation if it is disk I/O?

Okay in v6 stops occur almost instantaneously (on reasonably fast drives anyway).

As for your v5 problem I have a feeling it is because you are erasing an NTFS drive with either encryption or compression. Is that true?

Do you end up with a huge amount of disk space "missing" after the erase?
