Any success with DBan and Dell Inspirons?

I need to wipe my wife's Inspiron 8500 and was considering DBAN.

I am a little nervous after reading all the problems people seem to be having.

Any suggestions, words of comfort, or at least snide remarks?

Has anyone successfully used DBan on this system?

Inspiron 1150 - no problems.

Took 3hr 57min for 30GB hdd using 8 pass DoD but otherwise good to go.

I guess I'll start mine today.

I only plan on the quick erase since it is just for a reinstall.
