autonuke from cd-r

trying autonuke from a cd-r
the harddisk is about 120gb
the only information I get is:

loading kernel.bzi................
loading kernel.gz............
ready.
uncompressing linux.....ok. booting the kernel. please wait...

How do I know it is erasing? It would be handy if I saw a % or somenthing
Its been going on like this for 10 hrs and I don't see anything happen.

Do I have to start again?

The wipe did not start. Start DBAN in verbose mode:

boot: verbose

This will print the boot message. Report where it stops.

The harddisk is an ATA disc drive (Maxtor 6Y120M0
the last line says:

hda: attached ide-disk driver.
