Hi,

i have a notebook and want to erase my hard disk on it but i have no floppy drive or cdrw.

So i was wondering if i could copy the boot and nuke to memory stick and boot from USB when i turn on my computer.

Also i have an ibm notebook and it came with 4 product recovery cd's.
i am not sure wheather to use this ibm recovery cd or windows XP cd to reinstall windows. ( as i am scared the ibm recovery cd might restore some of my previous information on my hard disk).

Thks

The recovery cd will only restore your laptop to the state it was in when you bought it. Eg OS installed and then the pre-loaded software and drivers. It will not be able to recover any of your files for you
