By default, DBAN will verify that the disk is empty after a wipe. To further clarify the result, you can set the verfication mode to "all passes" by pushing <V> at the selection menu.
For each device that was wiped, the log file indicates whether the wipe succeeded or failed. The dban-1.0.4 release more clearly indicates this than previous releases.
