This is just feedback because I hadn't see anyone reporting problems with the Intel 875 chipset (Canterwood).
I have a motherboard with the i875P chipset and was not successful in running DBAN. I assume this is the same problem already reported for the Intel 865 chipset (Springdale). I tried the 2004 beta version of DBAN first and it would immediately abort with a "non-fatal error" message. I then tried version 1.0.1 and it would run, but produced the very slow performance reported for the Springdale chipset. Note that I didn't try v.1.0.2 (because of Zip drives) and I didn't fiddle around with chipset performance settings.
