DBAN errors with SCSI disk

I have tried running DBAN on two different Dell Poweredge servers and received the same error running either version 1.0.1 or 1.0.2. I have also tried different options such as autonuke and dod mode. Here is the dwipe.txt log file:

[2003/09/15 19:53:06] dwipe: fatal: Unable to write to '/dev/scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/disc'.
[2003/09/15 19:53:08] dwipe: notice: Program finished.
**End of log**

It appears that DBAN does infact write to the disk because I can no longer boot the system. Also, it takes approx 10.5 minutes before it errors out. Any help would be appreciated.

same problem for me!

I have come across the same problem trying to completely erase a HDD that is attached to a SCSI controller. The message I receive after five minutes or less is, "Unable to handle kernel paging request at virtual address 4c4c4c6c."
This HDD was running WinME as well as Norton System Works 2001, and there were many conflicts. I believe that some of the Norton files protect themselves from being erased, and I'm trying to find how to clean this drive up so that we can reload WinME.
Any ideas???

You may have bad memory. Run the http://www.memtest86.com/ utility on that computer.

The programs on the disk cannot affect the operation of DBAN.
