deleting email

Eraser does not erase emails. Emails are stored in a database structure (in Ms Outlook) and therefore impossible to erase. They could only ever be marked as erased but never actually erased.
However, you could run an archive on the folders you want to erase and then erase the Archive.pst file.

So what happens then when a hard drive is full and you delete emails from outlook express. I mean surely they cant go on being stored forever...at some point delted emails have to be overwritten by the OS or program right?

When you delete emails from the Deleted items folder in Outlook they are then deleted from the HD releasing space, however, they are still only deleted items in a data table and Eraser cannot touch them to erase them.

I hope this makes more sense.
