This version has the first/last2k method removed from the erase unused space option.

We have deleted versions 5.8/5.81 from sourceforge and this site.

Good job, I don't see why people continued to use this option when people post on this board stating how Eraser distroyed their system and when they are questioned it turns out that they used the first/last2k method in erasing unused space. Now by default Eraser uses Pseudorandom data, so the usser would to have to change the method by choice (To the first/last2k method) not by accident. Thank you Garett for stating in your post that versions 5.8/5.81 were deleted from sourceforge and this site.

Now it would be great if the website could reflect the new release and also have a note stating not to use the 5.8 or 5.81 versions of the program for those people who don't bother with the forums.

FWIW, here are the MD5 and SHA1 digests of eraser582setup.exe from SourceForge:

Code:
MD5(eraser582setup.exe)= 59ece7eb4f27858237b389868b60ea6a
SHA1(eraser582setup.exe)= be43012e10ee9f138397096ad78851aa5f47d905

Can anyone confirm the digests against their (hopefully) legitimate copy of the Eraser installer?

Thanks.
