Eraser Connects to Internet On Startup

Whenever I startup my computer, Eraser tries to connect to the internet. I use Comodo firewall, and it alerts me that the application is Eraser.exe, remote is 213.222.193.191 - TCP, and port is http(80). Why does it need to connect to the internet? And can I block it without causing any problems?

Yes, I think that's still validating certificates, the only code which Eraser has which connects to the internet is the updater code, and in trunk, the crash reporting code.

By "yes", do you mean I can go ahead and block it, or "yes" the connection on startup is something related to the updater code?

yes, you can block it, unless you are using the updater or the crash reporter.
