Eraser does not have required permissions

I just installed Eraser on my Windows 7 64bit system. I'm trying to Erase unused space on drive D. Even if I (1) run explorer as an administrator and (2) run Eraser as an administrator it still gives this message. Why?

BTW it is my understanding that Erasing Unused Space will really delete all of those files I deleted using Shift-Delete. Right?
Thanks,
Gary

Yes. The important step you're missing out is that you must exit the current running copy of Eraser in the system notification area.
