"Eraser has encountered a problem - Tell Microsoft"

Out of the Blue, my eraser I think it was V6.0.8.2273 brought up the following dialoge box: Eraser has encountered a problem and needs to close.... Please tell Microsoft about the problem. I uninstalled the program and then downloaded V6.1.0.2278 and am still getting the problem. The software will not launch and would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and how to get around the problem
