Eraser tries to change hosts file

I was running a task to erase unused disk space and about half way through the process, Zone Alarm flagged up a warning message that Eraser was trying to change the file WINDRVDIR\ETC\HOSTS. I selected "Deny" on the Zone Alarm dialogue box and the program seemed to continue to completion.

Why is Eraser trying to change the Hosts file?

Thanks,

It isn't - it is trying to erase the cluster tips of the hosts file and in the process of doing so to other applications Eraser is "trying" to change the HOSTS file. Don't worry - after it is done with erasing the cluster tips the HOSTS file will be restored to its original state.
