Erasor Didn't Erase Filenames....

I'm trying to use Eraser version 5.7 with Windows 2000 Pro.

I deleted the contents of one of Internet Explorer's cache directories and then looked at that directory with another program (Clean Disk Security) to see if the file names were erased. They were NOT completely erased!

Am I doing something wrong in using Eraser? I am using the 'On Demand' screen and set up a 'task' to delete the files in the desired directory. While the files ARE deleted, it appears that the file names are NOT being deleted (or overwritten) completely.

If eraser erases a file it is gone, what I think went wrong is some of the cached files were already deleted by the explorer cache and this is what you see in the recovery program.

I suggest you try erasing a sample file and then see if you can recover it.
