Error code 39

Started a wipe last night of a drive that fails to allow windows 2kpro to install (get stop 0x00000050) so i figured dban might fix the drive. let it run overnight and when i returned to the office this morning it crashed dban with a return error code of 39. The drive is a relatively new manufacture maxtor 120 gb. ran memtest - passed no problem so the memory is ok. Any ideas?
 
figured it out

it seems that the timings on the memory were too low. even though they were set to the advertised 7 - 3 - 3 - 2.5 it was apparently too low. i set them to 'spd' and they went to 9 - 3 - 3 - 3. then everything worked fine.
