  1. In Android file manager app, go to “Internal Storage/WhatsApp/Databases”. From the backup file extension, you can easily figure out when each backup copy is made.
  2. Rename the backup file that you want to restore from “msgstore-YYYY-MM-DD.1.db.crypt12” to “msgstore.db.crypt12”.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. Click “Restore” when asked.
