I need to Format my HDD. i need to know if DBAN will do it.

I have an acer that was running linux, when i attempted to partition it to dual boot ubuntu and windows with GPARTED, something went awry :( ... I am curious to know that if i wipe my HDD with DBAN, will it just format my HDD? and then if so, will i just be able to put my copy of windows7 ulti on top of it? i really need to know soon. Thanks for the help!

You can use the windows install to clear the partitions. DBAN will wipe the disk completely and take a lot of time. I'm assuming here you just want to repartition and not wipe the drive contents?
