I thought the autonuke was supposed to remove EVERYTHING

After running "autonuke" at boot-up sucessfully I then powered-down the machine and then powered it up again and, lo and behold, the operating system is still there. I thought autonuke even removed the operating system? What I want is to remove the operating system and everything else.

Yes, DBAN should wipe everything off the drive. It just overwrites everything with random garbage. DBAN doesn't even know the operating system files from other files. It sounds like it didn't actually run for some reason...
