Problem installing Eraser 6.1.0

Trying to install Eraser 6.1.0.2284. The it says this:

Error while executing .NET Framework Intaller: The system cannot find the file specified.

I am running Windows XP SP3 with Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 3.0 3.5 4 and Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2008 & 2010.

What should I do to resolve this?

We've had one other report of the installer not recognising a .NET installation. Unfortunately, the OP did not report back on the advice we gave, so the following is a best guess.

The problem has to be either in the Installer or in the particular .NET 3.5 installation on your machine; I am assuming that the latter is the more likely cause, as we'd have had more reports if the Installer as such were broken. As .NET is progressively patched via Windows Update, it can be a bit flaky. In these circumstances, you need to remove .NET 3.5; this will either be an entry in Add/Remove programs or (more likely) and entry in the Add/Remove Windows components list. Then download (from Microsoft) and reinstall .NET 3.5.1 manually.
