recycle bin

Since running the eraser program, I have experienced some technical difficulties in performance on Windows XP. As it stands, I am unable to right click my mouse and delete the recycle bin, and the computer locks up. I have received an error message that the recycle bin file is corrupted. Would a system restore undo the erasing and bring back the files that had been overwritten? I might try that but it looks like all of the prior dates to restore the system to have been cleaned out too. Any suggestions?

You don't have the background entropy polling option enabled, do you? If yes, then disable it. If you continue to experience problems, you may want to disable the shell extension entirely (somewhere in the preferences).

Oh, and if the System Restore software has stored copies of files you have erased, then yes, it can bring them back. However, I highly doubt this would help with your problem.
