Our company recently migrated to Microsoft 365, and I was responsible for moving old Outlook mailbox archives into the cloud. Since all the mailbox data was stored inside PST files, I needed a reliable way to import PST to Office 365 without affecting attachments, contacts, or folder structure.
Initially, I tested the Outlook Import/Export wizard. While it worked for smaller PST files, the process became very slow with larger mailboxes. The Network Upload method offered by Microsoft was another option, but managing CSV mapping and Azure AzCopy setup required technical knowledge that most users may not have.
While exploring alternative methods, I found details about the DRS Softech PST to Office 365 Migration Tool, which described a more organized migration process with support for multiple PST files and mailbox preview before import. That felt much safer because it reduced the risk of incomplete migration or mailbox clutter caused by duplicate items.
One major advantage of moving PST files into Office 365 is that emails become accessible from anywhere while remaining protected through Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure and security features.
