Removing Win 7 Folders

I am currently using Eraser 6.0.9. I recently installed Windows 7; didn't care for it, and successfully reinstalled Windows XP, which is running fine. The old Win 7 Folders remain. I cannot remove them in XP (says certain .dll are in use). Also Eraser can not remove the folder. Actually it says it does "with errors".

Can I somehow remove those dang Window 7 folders with Eraser (or anything else), so I could free up a little hard drive space. Any help or advice is appreciated! Thank you very much.

I think quite a few files are locked by the system. The only way AFAIK is to actually format the drive and reinstall XP (again)
