Hi

I am using the latest stable version of Eraser 6.2.0.2994 on Windows 11 23H2.

When I delete files, sometimes this window appears and I don't know what the problem could be for it to appear.

I look forward to your response, thank you in advance.

Can you give me more details about how the error is triggered.
for example does it happen with certain files or file sizes. Could these files be in use?
What about anti- virus software is it running - what happens if you disable it while erasing?
What version of Windows are you using?

I have installed version 6.2.0.2996. The window I showed at the beginning hasn't appeared yet, but Eraser is still showing errors when deleting files. A moment ago I wanted to delete 3 files, then after clicking "Yes" in the confirmation window the 3 files disappeared and a second later a notification appeared saying there was an error.

Then I opened Eraser and under Task Name the path of the files to be deleted appeared with the status: Completed with errors. Then I check the Task Log and the error says (This is an example): "The file c:/users/username/downloads/gimp.exe could not be erased because the file was either compressed, encrypted or a sparse file". So I close the Task Log, go back to Eraser, right-click on the task with the error, and select Run Now. After doing that the task disappears from the list, I have to do this process half the time.

I use Eraser on Windows 11 23H2 build 22631.5126. When installing Eraser I selected the Typical option. I have installed .Net Framework 3.5 and 4.8, also Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 and 2015-2022 Redistributable.

Completed with errors usually means the file was locked by something else - for example your anti virus application
Try to temporarly disable the anti-virus app and see if you get the same errors.
