Zip drive with no media being wiped by DBAN???

I just started using DBAN today so I would consider myself a newbie.

I just started to erase my second computer (we're getting ready to donate them to a career center) and this unit has an internal Iomega ZIP drive. Strange thing is, it appears to be writing its sequences to this ZIP drive even though there is no media in it. Any ideas as to why it does this on the ZIP drives and not the CD or CD/RW drives?

Thanks,
Loren

This is a known bug in the dban-1.0.3 release.

If you have only one hard disk in the computer, then the easiest workaround is to start DBAN like this from the boot prompt...

boot: dban hdb=none hdc=none hdd=none
