DBAN would be easier as it will just clean the whole drive. You need the .net framework to use eraser.

File deletion method speed vs. security

On a modern drive one pass erase will be just as good as the other methods: Recovery possibilities are based on: - Damaged drive so it cannot be erased in the first place - SSD drive where the data can be written to a different place each time - here a full wipe should work but individual...

Accidentally Cut instead of Copy, Did I Need to Use Eraser?

Re: Accidentally Cut instead of Copy, Did I Need to Use Eras Yes 'cutting' the files just copies and then uses windows delete so the file will be in the trash bin and recoverable. Erase the windows trash or empty the trash and do a freespace erase.

I need to Format my HDD. i need to know if DBAN will do it.

Re: I need to Format my HDD. i need to know if DBAN will do You can use the windows install to clear the partitions. DBAN will wipe the disk completely and take a lot of time. I'm assuming here you just want to repartition and not wipe the drive contents?

File deletion method speed vs. security

DOD might be faster as PRNG has to get the random bytes each time. The difference should be almost nothing in real terms.
