not partition level but drive level
dban will wipe everything from every drive you point to. If you use it on on your C: drive, you won't need to worry about where IE is hiding cookie files. You might consider "Eraser" for file removal.
run time options
Have a look at the file syslinux.cfg for the available options. You can change the value for "DEFAULT" to a different label if you want one of the ones already defined or you can change a section below.
Promise support in place
The problem I was having with the Promise TX2 cards was actually a mis-wired removable drive bay. I don't know the mfg date, but the latest DBAN works fine with the TX2 cards I have.

I would like to use DBAN with promise IDE controller cards. Is the "Ultra100 TX2" supported? How about the "Ultra 133 TX2" ?

System restrictions to raw floppy write
Do you have anti-virus software that would inhibit a floppy write? Or perhaps you sysadmin has not granted your account sufficient privs.
Wiping non - boot devices
Boot from the floppy or CD. When the menu of available disks is displayed choose the one you want to clear and tell it to start.
Rawrite for block copy
You don't copy the unzipped contents to a floppy. Use the rawrtie utility to write the file "dban_1_0_2_i386.img" to a floppy. It is a raw block transfer similar to how an ISO file is used to make a cdrom.
